Working as both a sculptor and industrial designer, Noguchi brought both disciplines to this design, creating a functional piece of furniture that still has an artistic quality to its combination of materials.Deceptive in its form, the base is actually formed from two identically carved pieces of solid wood, the symmetry creating an open yet supportive frame.To ensure this beautiful design is not obscured, a thick pane of glass provides the top – its curved organic shape in keeping with the overall feel of the table.
